A Conversation with Siblings in Washington State
The Washington state CoP team hosted a Conversation with Siblings as part of an effort by Community of Practice to improve the state’s support of individuals across the lifespan. This included looking at the role of adult siblings in providing support as parents age and/or become unable to provide that for the individual with a disability. One thing all participants had in common was passion and commitment for ensuring the best quality of life for their siblings, while many of them were in very different roles in their siblings lives. There were various presentations and discussion groups, all around the vital role that siblings play in individuals lives.
