The District of Columbia is working to increase their core state team. Currently the team has representation from the DD Administration, the Georgetown UCEDD, Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities, and the DC DD Council, among other agencies and disability groups. The team is working to include family members and self-advocates, and help them feel like they have ownership of the project. Another group the team is working to include are service providers. The DC team has monthly core team meetings, as well as two subcommittees that also meet monthly; the advocacy subcommittee and the Parent to Parent subcommittee. There are also larger quarterly stakeholders meetings that include many parents and family members. All of the meeting are interactive, and the core team is influenced by the larger stakeholders group.
